Question No. 266 (Unstarred) , Lok Sabha 17,Session 15, Ministry of Tourism, Feb 5, 2024, The Ministry of Tourism launched its ‘Swadesh Darshan Scheme’ (SDS) in the year 2014-15 for integrated development of Theme–Based Tourist Circuits in the country. Under this scheme, a total number of 76 projects for a revised sanctioned cost of ₹5294.11 Crore across the country under different identified thematic circuits were sanctioned. the Ministry has sanctioned 06 projects under Eco–Tourism theme in the country, the detail of which is annexed. According to the details provided in the Annex however, all projects sanctioned under this scheme pre-date the 17th Lok Sabha term (i.e. all projects were sanctioned during FY 2015-16, to FY 2018-19.
